Dear Nursing Alumni & Friends,

Phase I of the renovations at Basil O’Connor Hall (Tuskegee University School of Nursing) are complete!

Thanks to the generous contributions of Mr. James Pollin (non-alum) and the TU National Nursing Alumni Association’s (TUNNAA) Matching Fund Initiative, the TU School of Nursing’s Auditorium and a large
classroom (#204/216) have been transformed. Access the link down below to view pictures of the renovations that have recently occurred. Thank you, TINA ALLEN (Nurse Alumna) for the pictures and viewing link.

TU Nursing Alumni, TU non-nursing alumni, friends and family of alumni who contributed to the Matching Fund Initiative…please take a bow! Take and bow and pat yourselves on the back because this is what your contributions have helped to take place.
In fact, another classroom in the School of Nursing will be receiving new seating soon. YOUR donations helped to make the TUNNAA Matching Fund Initiative a resounding success and this certainly made updating of seats in an additional SON classroom possible. The renovations Project Manager assures these will be in place before the SON September 27-29, 2016 Accreditation Site Visit.
You will be glad to know, the Matching Fund Initiative goal to match Mr. Pollin’s first $50,000 donation was exceeded.

TUNNAA is now striving to raise an additional $50,000 in order to match his total contribution. These funds will enable us to facilitate more renovations/updating of the SON and allow purchasing of, state of the art, training and teaching equipment.

There is MUCH more work to be done at our School of Nursing (the first Baccalaureate Nursing Program in the State of Alabama). Therefore, it is important to… keep the tax deductible donations coming in.

Spread the word to other nursing alums, TU alums in general, friends and family of alums and share with them what we have achieved, what we are striving for. Solicit their financial support of the TUNNAA Matching Fund Initiative or the TUNNAA Scholarship Fund …there are many nursing students in need of our financial assistance.

GOOD NEWS!! Thanks to Gladys Hubbard and Lillie Lanier (Board Members of The TU Alumni Housing Foundation), Phase II renovation projects at Basil O’Connor Hall will soon be taking place. So you see…non-alumni donors and others are seeing the need to help the TU School of Nursing. Their working with TUNNAA President, Dr. Doris Holeman (TU Interim Dean of School of Nursing and Allied Health and Director of Nursing) and Marcus Dean (TU Interim Vice President of Capital Projects and Facilities Service) made it possible for the School of Nursing to become the recipient of an Alumni Housing Foundation grant. These funds will be used to further renovate the TU School of Nursing.

Thanks Nursing Alumni and friends for stepping up to support the TU School Of Nursing!!!
It’s all about being passionately engaged. We must stay engaged to help Mother Tuskegee… survive and thrive.
